  • Purpose:
        ✔ To support the formulation and implementation of WIUT’s Marketing and Communications Strategy through SMM platforms and to establish University's online presence and brand value. The post holder will be responsible to develop and enhance the University’s SMM strategy and to promote its social media platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, create, and publish engaging multimedia content (photos, videos, Reels, Shorts, stories, and posts) for WIUT's official social media channels.
  • Capture high-quality video content during university events, academic activities, student life initiatives, graduation ceremonies, guest lectures, and other institutional activities.
  • Produce and edit short-form and long-form video content that promotes WIUT's programmes, achievements, students, faculty, and partnerships.
  • Plan and execute social media content in line with the University's marketing, recruitment, branding, and communication objectives.
  • Monitor social media trends and propose creative content ideas to increase audience engagement, reach, and brand awareness.
  • Collaborate with faculty, departments, student societies, and university leadership to identify and develop content opportunities.
  • Manage the day-to-day publication of content across social media platforms, ensuring consistency with WIUT's brand identity and communication standards.
  • Conduct interviews with students, alumni, academic staff, and university partners for promotional and storytelling purposes.
  • Support student recruitment campaigns by creating content that highlights the student experience, academic excellence, employability outcomes, and campus facilities.
  • Assist in the promotion of university events, conferences, competitions, open days, and community engagement activities.
  • Ensure all content complies with university policies, brand guidelines, and copyright requirements.
  • Coordinate with the Marketing and Communications team to support integrated marketing campaigns and strategic communication initiatives.
  • Monitor and promptly report potential reputational risks, negative publicity, misinformation, and crisis-related issues on social media channels, supporting the implementation of the University's crisis communication procedures.
  • Contribute to enhancing WIUT's reputation, visibility, and digital presence among prospective students, current students, alumni, partners, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Mobile videography and photography skills, including composition, lighting, framing, and storytelling.
  • Strong content creation skills for social media platforms, particularly Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
  • Proficiency in video editing software and mobile editing applications (e.g. CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro).
  • Ability to create engaging short-form video content (Reels, Shorts, TikTok videos) aligned with brand objectives.
  • Strong understanding of social media trends, algorithms, audience engagement techniques, and digital content best practices.
  • Knowledge of branding, visual identity guidelines, and content consistency requirements.
  • Excellent copywriting skills for social media captions and promotional content.
  • Ability to plan, organise, and manage multiple content projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with students, academic staff, senior management, and external stakeholders.
  • Creative thinking and the ability to generate innovative content ideas that enhance brand visibility and engagement.
  • Basic understanding of social media analytics and performance reporting.
